Maffra is located 222 km east of Melbourne via the Princes Highway and is known as a town for its dairy and sugar industries. 1915 Cup winner, PATROBAS, comes from the surrounding area. Looks like a big day is planned ahead in Maffra.
Event details
The Cup Tour begins the day in Maffra, at the Prince Street Reserve Statue of Patrobas, the winner of 1915 Melbourne Cup. There will be a photo opportunity with the 2022 & 1915 Cups on display. The Cup will then head to St Mary's Primary School where VRC representatives will present to the students. Later in the afternoon, the Cup will make its way to the Maffra RSL & the Stretton Park Aged Care Home, before heading down the Maffra main street to meet and greet the traders.
